PERCY WIMPS OUT: AN OPPOSING VIEW

Fans, late last night we received the following email regarding Percy Pringle. We don't agree with the writer's view of what Percy did, kayfabe or not. Nonetheless, judge for yourselves. We thank this man for his email.
I may be in the minority here, but I have to side with Percy. He left the WWE on his own accord -he wasn't fired. He took time off to take care of his wife (she had breast cancer). My wife has end stage MS, so I know the cost in money, time and emotional strain that having a chronically ill family member can place on a family. At no time during the time that I read any of his stories did I see him diss wrestling as a whole, but he was vocal about the Katie Vick crap (like 99.9% of us). He came accross as a class act.
He may have had full intentions of staying retired, but with the cost of living, medical bills, and the boredom of retirement, when the UT had the WWE offer him a deal to come out of retirement, it may have been too good to pass up.
As for the fact that he 'lied'; it's pro-wrestling and he's old school, so he kayfabed to reduce the amount of exposure of his 'surprise' appearance with the UT at WM XX. Until the day he died, Gorilla Monsoon was kayfabe to the end, and he was respected for it, so I'm willing to give Percy the same respect.
As for him being thin-skinned, well not everybody is the HTM. I respect HTM as much as anybody else in wrestling - doing what he has to get people to see him wrestle and give them their money's worth, but not everybody is HTM. HTM could give a shit less if net users diss him or praise him, whereas Percy may not have had that type of mentality.
I love pro-wrestling (but not the crap that Vince is dumping on us today). I wrestled in the Mid-Atlantic area back in 1978-1980; the life wasn't for me, so I left the business. In some people's eyes, that made me a quitter but Blackjack Mulligan told me one day in 1984 that I made the best decision that I could have made.
Sorry about rambling, but the gist is: I love reading HTM, the old Tom Zenk before he quit slamming the WWE, and I loved reading Percy's site, and it's a loss to the fans not to have a different viewpoint/attitude towards our sport.
Thank you for your time.
