Dippin’ Low: Warrior on Ebay Round II

Fans, it looks like Mr. Warrior’s auction for his blue WWF title belt was a complete bust. Ouch. With an opening bid of $23,500.00 we weren’t all that surprised.
While I am thinking about it, some ninny emailed us about the blue belt auction Commentary. It seems that certain Little Warriors, whatever their political persuasion, don’t like it when anyone mentions their hero in terms other than they themselves would use. One of these days we have to revive our “Idiot Email” section.
The HTM has never made it a secret that his is a parody website. The HTM and the administrators write what we do for our own amusement and that of The HTM’s fans. We don’t take ourselves seriously and it HIGHLY amuses us when others do. We have the reputation of being the most open---I detest the word “liberal” as much if not more than Mr. Warrior does---wrestling related website and forum on the internet. We tolerate just about everything and have been known to allow people we have banned in the past return to The HTM forums.
Imagine that . . . .
Like everyone else, racism, spamming, and hacking us are big no-nos. As far as we are aware, we originated “The Flaming Forum” which is a safe harbor to blast anyone in any terms at any time. That includes us and it means especially us. Why? Because what The HTM despises the most are hypocrites. All we ask is that posters not exclusively use The Flaming Forum, and the spamming rules still apply. We don’t allow links to porno websites out of deference to The HTM’s younger fans. In addition, The HTM’s wife would probably lay a frying pan across his lips if we did that. We absolutely do not allow criticizing our troops when they are being shot at. Criticize the government all you like but not the guys with their asses on the line for us all. In summation, you have to try very hard to succeed at getting banned from The HTM Website but it has been known to happen.
We did not intend to disparage Ebay in the Warrior blue belt Commentary nor Mr. Warrior’s use of it. We have nothing against Ebay and use it all the time ourselves.
As for Mr. Warrior, he now comes out for Round 2 with a second reserve auction for a different title belt, this one in black and without the WWF initials. He freely acknowledges that his blue belt auction flopped. Whether Mr. Warrior realizes it or not his explanations and phrases, i.e., “I don't care what you think. If you don't have the money for such a classic, historical One-of-a-Kind (sic) piece, don't advertise it by forwarding your unwanted opinion. Others will know how cheap you really are,” probably didn’t help his cause.
Mr. Warrior demonstrates a basic lack of understanding of how economics works. He states: “I priced the belt at its Authentic (sic) worth. There are those who disagreed.”
A good or service put up for sale is only worth what a willing buyer will pay and what a willing seller will accept. Desiring an item or service is merely a want. The willingness of a buyer to part with a certain amount of money to purchase an item or service equals demand. Demand, not want, makes the world turn. Worth doesn’t enter into the equation until both parties agree to the terms of a sale. The “Authentic worth” of Mr. Warrior’s blue belt was never established because no sale was made.
The purest economic way to establish “Authentic worth” is through a no reserve auction. That would establish without puffery and egomania exactly what demand exists for Mr. Warrior’s belts. The fact that Mr. Warrior would not part with his blue belt for less than $23,500.00 merely established its sentimental value to him; it did not establish the “Authentic worth” i.e., the economic worth, of the item.
And what of Round II? Once again, we shall see.
